I read both your posts in the forum and I wanted to let you know that my dog Chloe was also diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma above her hind hock (left leg though).
I had the unfortunate experience of coming home to find a tumor on my dog’s leg just weeks after I graduated college. Needless to say I did not hesitate to amputate the leg after we learned it was cancer since her blood panel also revealed she is in extremely good health. I read that you had many concerns about a large breed dog and stairs, but it really depends on their desire to be mobile. Chloe is now only 65 lbs, but she seriously wants to go everywhere she used to. Even at day 12 she can go up/down 5 wooden stairs that separate the kitchen and living room (trust me I didn’t try this with her until recently since I too was worried like no other). Today she decided to go up to my parents room on her own (15 wooden stairs) when I was doing art work in the kitchen. Now THAT was a surprise since I was waiting on the Ruff Wear Harness to arrive (supposed to come in a couple days) before trying that. Guess she really wanted to see if my parents were up there… In my experience with a hind amp, going up is harder than going down because there is only one back leg to push. Chloe is learning to “pull” going up the stairs by using more of her front legs. I am sure Linus will adapt and the harness you have will definitely help.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that there is a fellow spindle cell cancer survivor in the tripawd website since there are only a handful of us out there!
Thanks SO much for the encouraging words !!! Linus is doing well with the stairs while using his harness. You’re going to laugh when you hear — he weighs 165 pounds !
The Trooper is doing so well that he managed to snatch a loaf of freshly baked bread off the far side of the kitchen counter. No way he could have done that with all three on the floor. Amazing the balance he’s developed — especially with that kind of incentive.
He ate 1/4 of the loaf before we realized what he was doing, and of course he slimed the ENTIRE loaf, rendering it “his”.
What a great dog, can’t wait to visit and just give him a hug! Of course that includes his sister. We are trying to figure how to fly with the boys, so they can visit their family too! Murphy misses Pearl.

Thanks so very much. I am extremely relieved to have him home!
My granddog looks great. So glad to hear how great he is doing. He really is a trooper.
